Poultry and Farm Animals
Mt. Shasta Municipal Code 9.04.020 states "It is unlawful for any person to keep animals or fowl within the corporate limits of the City of Mt Shasta without first obtaining an annual permit from the City." These animal permits are $15.00 annually and may be purchased at City Hall 305 N. Mt. Shasta Boulevard
It is unlawful for any person to keep a horse, cow, calf, sheep, rabbit, mule or other animal or a chicken, pigeon, goose, duck or other poultry in such a manner as to create a condition or conditions which are favorable for fly breeding, odor production or any other nuisance or condition or conditions which is detrimental to the public health, welfare, or well being of the residents to the community. All areas must be kept clean and sanitary manner at all times as directed by the public health officer.
It is unlawful for any person to keep swine or goats within the City limits under any circumstances. No permits will be issued for these types of animals within the City of Mt. Shasta.
