Mt. Shasta Police Department DARE Program
(Drug Abuse Resistance Education)
The Mt. Shasta DARE Program has been in our local schools for nearly 20 years and still going strong. Currently, the DARE Officer is Chris Lynch who has proudly served as our DARE Officer for 4 years.
Officer Lynch teaches 5th Grade DARE to the Sisson Elementary, the program is a 10 lesson program and is taught during the Spring Semester. On the average there are approximately 80-100 5th graders we teach DARE to every year. At nearly 20 years of teaching DARE at the Mt. Shasta Police Department, we have educated almost 2000 Sisson Elementary students about the dangers of drugs.
The Mt. Shasta Police Department is extremely proud to provide DARE education to our local students and plan on continuing this powerful tradition for years to come.
